Family Reunion in Moab

Hello again, It's been awhile since I've posted anything, but that's because I've been busy on vacations. So, 2 weeks ago I drove with my family to Moab for the annual Bodell reunion. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a bunch of annoying bugs and I instantly started having a bad attitude about that place. We went to bed that night and I got to sleep on a small bunk bed where my feet hung off. The next day we hiked up to the cool arch that you see on the back of Utah license plates. I got to carry my little nephew up the mountain on my back which was pretty interesting too.
As I was climbing, I wanted to sing the song from Holes. The one that goes "If only, If only, the woodpeckers sigh........." I don't know the rest of the words, but that's what carrying little jakey reminded me of. We finally made it up to the Arch and it was definitely cool. It was way bigger than I thought it would be. Me and Rachel went and stood under it to take a picture .

After our hike we went back down the mountain and I guess Jake got a little sick of hiking,

Later that weekend Camden, Sydney, Courtney, Matt, Noah, Brandy and I went on a water hike. It was suppose to be an easy little fun hike, but I thought it otherwise. You see, me, Camden, and Sydney went ahead of the rest to try and get to the waterfall first, which was a big mistake. We just kept going and going, walking through a bunch of underbrush that Camden claimed was a path even though it wasn't really a path at all, it was just a place that somebody had walked through before. So we kept walking and we saw no signs of any good paths. I told Camden and Sydney that we should turn back, but they didn't want to and they said I could turn back if I wanted to. But that wouldn't be any better, so I just went along with them, and we were walking way too far. We finally got to a point way up the canyon where we decided to turn around. We finally saw some of our other family members that were on the hike before us and they told us the right way to go. It turns out the hike would have been a lot easier if we hadn't gone ahead. The reunion came to close and we took a picture with all our reunion shirts. It turned out to be a really fun reunion.

  1. Haha. Thanks for carrying Jakey all the way up.... and down. I have some more pictures of that day for you, too... but I haven't uploaded them on Picasa yet. There is one where you both are smiling though. I will get it to you. I am glad you posted. Good times. :)
